The 21 Day Challenge is designed to help prioritize our relationship with God and focus our attention on what matters most.

Whether you have a great prayer life or no prayer life at all, this challenge is a powerful way to start 2019.

You can start today!

WELCOME

We’re thrilled that you set aside the first part of your year for a focused, intentional time of Bible reading, meditation, prayer, and fasting.

We believe this will be the best year of your life... if it’s your best year spiritually. The 21 Day Challenge is just a tool to help you focus the first part of your year on your relationship with God.

WHAT TO DO

Throughout our 21 Day Challenge we invite you to join us in the following ways:

ONE.

Follow us on Instagram for reminders and inspiration.  We will also have occasional Instagram Live prayer sessions.

Follow: @theliftlive

TWO.

Set aside time each day for reading the Bible and Praying.  A daily prayer list has been provided below.  Also, choose your fast. More information about fasting is listed below as well.

THREE.

Make church attendance a priority. Join us each Sunday morning at 9:30 or 11am as we go through a very important sermon series called, Mind Reset. We are talking about changing the thoughts that change us.

READING THE BIBLE

One of the most powerful disciplines you can develop to become more like Jesus is to simply read the Bible, think about what you've read, and have a conversation with God about it. If you do this for 21 days, you will be amazed by how much you grow spiritually.

If reading the Bible has never been your thing, try using the YouVersion Bible App. It has many different devotional plans for you to choose from.  We have linked to a few plans we recommend trying during our 21 Day Challenge.

Bible Plan

Below are links to a few Bible App Prayer and Fasting Plans for you to use during the 21 Day Challenge.  These plans were written by various churches and authors.

FASTING

Why do we fast?  Fasting in a Biblical sense is abstaining from something, typically food, to help create an added awareness of our weakness and our need for God's strength. By not paying as much attention to one thing we are able to pay more attention to something else. In fasting, we surrender ourselves to God, showing Him that a relationship with Him is a priority in our lives. Dedicating ourselves to prayer and fasting brings us to a new level of spiritual dependance and renews our perspective, commitment and resolve.

CHOOSING YOUR FAST

Jesus fasted and encouraged His disciples to do so from time to time as well. Fasting isn’t about punishment for sin. Jesus already took care of that for you. There are no rigid rules here. Fasting is about choosing to disconnect yourself from your dependence on the world.

Here are examples of the different types of fasts you might consider:

COMPLETE FAST

Talk to your doctor before you participate in this one, but it’s just like it sounds. Complete or total fasting means you drink liquids only for all or a designated portion of our 21 Day Challenge (e.g. water or light juices).

SELECTIVE FAST

Many people will choose a selective fast.  Scripture talks about this type of fast as choosing not to eat certain foods or drinks.  The Daniel Fast is one example of a selective fast (no meats, sweets, or breads for 21 days). Whole 30, Vegan/plant-based, and Paleo meal plans are popular choices as well.

INTERMITTENT FAST

This was a common type of fast for the Hebrew people.  For this fast, you designate certain times of the day for fasting.  For example, no eating sun up to sundown or choosing to eat in the morning or afternoon only.

SOUL FAST

This is a very popular type of fast. A Soul Fast can mean turning off social media, the news, television, movies, music, or turning off screens at certain times of the day altogether.  The point of this type of fast is to guard the types of things that go into your mind and heart during this season.

WHERE PRAYER IS FOCUSED, POWER FALLS.
